  • TOP CAUSES FOR DEATHS IN PATH OF EXILE
It's a fact that when you play a game like Path of Exile, you're bound to die one time or another, especially with its tough enemies and bosses. No matter how good you are or could be, you'll experience the death of a character, especially your first. Dying isn't that big of a deal in Standard league since there's no penalty for it anyway. However , once you get into Hardcore, then you will definitely care about it.
For those who want to know what may likely get them killed in the game, here are some that are cited as the top causes for death in Path associated with Exile. Knowing these does not guarantee you will be able to avoid them, but at least you will know what to look out for and prevent deaths whenever possible. Regardless of how good your PoE items are, it’s not exactly fun to die in the game, after all.
The most controversial one is definitely the actual desync. That happens when the game client on your computer and the Path regarding Exile server somehow has different things going on at the moment, thus prompting a disconnection once the server catches up. Lag can also cause death, but at least that's predictable. On the other hand, desyncs (which are different from lag spikes) are not as predictable, so dying from one can be extremely frustrating.
Getting wiped out by a tough map boss is also fairly common, either from having underestimated the particular challenged and/or being underprepared or just outright unprepared. Map affixes can also mess with you, whether it's by vulnerability and some sort of max since getting hit with the wrong attack can do you within. Also, you can get strike with a random critical and you just happen to be low on HP at that time.
It could also be other stuff like strong boxes with freeze or even detonate dead, instant death, reflect pack, and so on. Fights with tons of visual effects can also get you killed because that can cause desyncs or just bog down your computer's performance and slow everything down to the point where it's pretty much like lag. You can prevent that by adjusting your graphics options accordingly, using low quality if you have a slower computer or if you want to be really sure that you don't have something like that happen to you.
But not all causes are due to something in the game itself. Sometimes, it's because of something affecting the player, which is commonly fatigue and lack of focus. An action role-playing game like Path involving Exile calls for long hours of gameplay if you really want to be on best, and there are times when you're no longer fresh. Tiredness is perhaps the greatest cause of deaths in any online role-playing game, no matter what title or who is playing. Not being 100% focused on the game can lead to death, so you may want to get your sleep first before playing again.
If this helps you be more prepared and vigilant as a player and prevent future deaths in the game, then that's good. But remember that mortality is inevitable, not just inside real life but also hanging around. That's one thing that you can't escape through, and Path connected with Exile surely sees a lot of death anyway, even if you have great Path of Exile items.
